Wooly Water Bottle Review & Giveaway

The "Wooly" from Hydrapak
I was recently contacted by Hydrapak to do a review on their Wooly waterbottle.  I must admit I love waterbottles (I always have one with me) and I have quite a variety of types.

The Wooly has a new type of insulation, Primaloft, that keeps drinks cooler longer.  What is also great about Primaloft, is that is it a post comsumer recycled and eco-friendly fibre.  Yay!

As Hydrapak notes on their website: "The Wooly™ uses a layer of PrimaLoft® between a double walled Resilium™ bottle to create the most technologically advanced insulated sports bottle on the market."

I do find that the Wooly bottle keeps my water (or electrolytes, etc) much cooler than any of my other waterbottles.  I have gone for a run and left my Wooly in the car, where it got quite warm inside, and when I came back, my water was still cool and not that yucky "my water has been in the car in the hot sun"warm.

My Wooly is now my favourite bottle to take with me where ever I go, and it is great for on the go because it is so light.   It is also dishwasher (top rack) safe and freezer safe and has no BPA (something I look for in all of my water bottles).

Great for in the gym, out for a run/hike, or anywhere!

The Wooly had a "mammoth" valve which means that you can get a good drink, none of this small trickle of water - when I am working out, I want a good mouthful of water!!

Want one of your own?  You can enter for a chance to win your own Wooly from Hydrapak!  With summer coming, you'll LOVE how this bottle keeps your drinks cooler longer!

Oral IV Review

I was excited to be asked to review a new hydration aid, Oral IV.   It was great timing because it has been a warm fall and when I tend to get thirsty when I run in the heat.
Oral IV is flavourless, so when you add it to water, it doesn't change the taste of the water.  I love drinking water, and am not big on flavoured drinks, so it's perfect for me!  You can also drink the Oral IV undiluted.

I found that Oral IV kept me hydrated on my runs, and I felt like I had lots of energy to finish my runs in the heat.
Oral IV contains "a complex of crystalloid electrolytes and purified water". It does not contain caffeine, stimulants or sugars.  It is nice to have a hydration aid that is not full of unwanted stimulants and sugars that I don't want or need!  This product has been a great find and will help me fuel my runs!!

Oral IV comes in single serving vials that you can
take alone, or add to water.

Want to try Oral IV for yourself? Use the code "fitness" at checkout and you will get 10% off any purchase on the Oral IV website: oraliv.com
I was provided free samples of Oral IV in exchange for a review.  I was not monetarily compensated nor required to provide a positive feedback.  The opinions expressed in this post are solely my own.

Simple Hydration Water Bottle Review & Fitness Friday Link Up

I was excited to receive a package containing a Simple Hydration bottle.  I am by nature a thirsty person, and always have a water bottle with me at my desk, at the gym, in my car, basically where ever I am. When I started running early this year, I found it hard to run without water, but I found it equally annoying to run and hold on to a bulky bottle.

Then I found the Simple Hydration bottle.  It seemed like such a great idea!  It's easy to hold in your hand if you want to run and drink, or even to hold onto while running.  It is also great because you can tuck it into the waistband of your pants and it stays there while you run!  How awesome is that?!

The design is perfect to hold or slip in the back of your pants

I was lucky enough to receive a bottle from Simple Hydration to try out for myself and do a review on.  I have tried it on  a few runs, and my daughter has used it while horseback riding.  This bottle is great!

These bottles are not just for runners!! They are great when out horseback riding too!!

I found that the bottle does stay in place best when I use it with pants that I can tie up the drawstring tight, or when I use a pouch for my phone, I tuck it into the band of that.  It works well, and you don't really notice it there when you are running.  It is simple, and it is amazing!  I am so glad that I discovered this bottle!
Be sure to check out their website www.simplehydration.com and check out their Facebook page; Simple Hydration.

Simple Hydration bottles work best when slipped into a belt or
into the back of pants with the drawstring tight.

*Simple Hydration did not pay for this review, I was given a Simple Hydration bottle to review.  These are my personal opinions and experience with the product, I was not paid for this review.

Sweat Pink Blog Hop & Heat Wave

Heat Wave

It's a hot one out there today (and has been for a while now), and I am having a little trouble getting motivated to do a workout.  Does anyone else have that trouble in the heat and humidity?  I'll eventually do a good workout, but it just seems so much harder to get moving than when it's cooler.
Always be sure that you are drinking enough water to maintain your hydration during this heat, especially when you are working out.  I don't go anywhere without my bottles (that's right, I bring multiple bottles wherever I go) of water.
