How I Got Started on my Fitness Journey

I have always been heavy, I have struggled all of my life with my weight.  Even when I am quite active, my weight has always been a problem.  I've crash dieted, and then proceeded to gain all of the weight back - plus extra.  That is until I was selected to be part of a fitness challenge on Fighter Diet's Facebook page last summer.  I was a little unsure, but decided to give it a try.

To find out about the program that got me my start in getting fit and healthy, click here: Fighter Diet

Fighter Diet worked for me - I didn't go hungry, and I had workouts all set out for me from Pauline's ebooks.  It was great to see progress, and I am still seeing progress!
I highly recommend Fighter Diet to anyone who is not sure where to start with either diet and/or fitness.  It is a great plan, and it works!!

Fighter Diet Challenge- Week 5 Update

I am a little late posting my results from last week, sorry.  So,Week 5 of my Fighter Diet is over and I lost 2lbs last week, for a total of 15.5lbs.  I am very happy with my weight loss and feeling stronger with my workouts with weights, but I still haven't got all my cardio in that I should.  By the time I get home from work and do all that needs doing (kids here, there, etc), I am spent and don't think I could do cardio.  I know that I need to pick up my act and get more cardio in to be able to lose more weight.

So I am promising to do at least 30 minutes of cardio a day for this week, and I'll check back on the weekend to let you know my results and if I kept up with my promise!!

Week 3 of My Fighter Diet Challenge

So I have made it through 3 weeks on The Fighter Diet and I have stayed compliant with the diet and with my exercise routines.  I am getting used to eating lots and lots of veggies :)   I've never had a problem with exercising (but it is nice to have the programs laid out for you), it has always been my diet.  It's true that you can't exercise away a bad diet - I am living proof!
I enjoy challenging myself with new exercise routines that Pauline Nordin (the Fighter Diet creator) has; especially  some new ones in the Fighter Diet Deadlift eBook  (which you can purchase here).  I tried the Deadlift Cardio workout yesterday and it really got my heart rate up!!

For more information on the Fighter Diet, check out their webpage and Facebook page.  There are lots of helpful people there that will answer your questions about the diet!

This week I am starting week 4 on my Fighter Diet challenge. So far I am down 9.5lbs, I have lost 3/4" on my chest, 3" on my waist, 2" on my abdomen, 1.5" on my hips, 1.5" on each thigh, and 1/2" on each arm and 7.7lbs of body fat!!
I am excited about the changes so far, and can't wait to see where I am after the 12 weeks of the challenge are up!

My Fighter Diet Transformation Challenge

This week I was lucky enough to be selected to be a part of a diet and exercise challenge through Fighter Diet's Facebook page. Pauline Nordin (Fighter Diet's creator) selected over 10 of us contenders and we are to use one of her diet plans and any of her workouts for 3 months.  My goal is to lose weight, lose fat and gain muscle (and muscle definition).

Getting in my cardio

Pauline has quite a few eBooks on her webpage for us to choose from, but with her help I have my diet plan and workouts (cardio and strength training) ready.

If you want to follow my transformation, I will be posting here about it from time to time, and posting daily on my Facebook page: My Journey to Getting Fit and Healthy and on Pauline's Facebook page: Fighter Diet.  You can follow all of the Transformation Contenders on Pauline's Fighter Diet facebook page.

The Simply Bar Challenge

This week I received 4 The Simply Bars in the mail as part of The Simply Bar Challenge.  I was sent 4 of their best-selling flavours; Caramel Peanut, Cinnamon Pecan, Lemon Coconut, and Peanut Butter Chocolate.  (They have other flavours too: Cocoa Raspberry & Cocoa Coffee).

They all looked so good!

Most of their bars only have 9 or 10 ingredients, and according to their webpage, "Each bar has 16g protein, more fiber than sugar, and 160 calories or less, with at least 4 grams of Fiber."
A bar that has more fibre than sugar?  That is awesome!  And the bonus is they taste good!  They are not overly sweet and don't sit heavily in your stomach, so I found they are great after a workout.
I also found that they kept me feeling fuller longer than other protein bars I have tried.
The bars are also dairy & gluten free, certified non GMO, vegan, kosher, a good source of iron, low glycemic and easy to digest.
Plus, they are a Canadian company, and I love to see Canadian companies making great products!

I chose the Lemon Coconut to try first

I am usually a big chocolate fan, but I must admit that my favourite one is the Lemon Coconut, with the Peanut Butter Chocolate being a close second, but all the flavours were good.  I know I will be buying some The Simply Bars for mid-day/post-workout snacks. :)

So yummy!  The Lemon Coconut is my fave.

For more information on all of their products (including protein chips), go to http://www.wellnessfoods.ca/

I was not paid for this review, I was only given the bars as part of their Simply Bar Challenge.
