My goals from last week were:

- I kept to my diet plan 100% and tracked everything into My Fitness Pal, and on Saturday I rewarded myself with a "cheat meal" :)  It was awesome!

Goal #2  Trying a new healthy and clean recipe
-I tried a couple new protein bar recipes (I will post later this week).  They are good!!

Goal #3  Run 3x this week and keep to my weights workouts (5x a week)

Goal #4  Keep up with my blog posts!!!

The Weekly Chase #7 (Ooops, I missed a week) & The EnergyBits Winner!!

I guess I have been a bad girl.  I missed posting my weekly chase last week.  I have been crazy-busy, but kept to my workout schedule and eating plan (yay!!), but I was very lax with blogging.  Sorry about that.

I had a lot of work to do last week, but at least my "assistant"
was very cute, even though she wasn't very helpful.

So, I am back on track, and here is my Weekly Chase #7

My goals for last week were:

Goal #1  Once again, I will aim for running 3x  this week.
I only managed two runs this past week.

Goal #2  I promise to get on my treadmill at least once this week to get used to the old beast.
I had one run on the treadmill (not enjoyable), and one run outside in the wind and mud (it was better than when we had snow on the ground - yuk, way too early for snow)

Goal #3  I will get started again on a running plan and stick to it!!
I haven't started one yet. :(

Goal #4  This isn't fitness related, but another goal is to clean out my van before winter.  It's amazing how much stuff accumulates in your vehicles.
My van is totally cleaned out and it really needed it!!  It's amazing what you find under the seats.

My goals for this coming week are:

Goal #1  Keep to my diet plan & track all my food in MFP

Goal #2  Trying a new healthy and clean recipe

Goal #3  Run 3x this week and keep to my weights workouts (5x a week)

Goal #4  Keep up with my blog posts!!!

Weekly Chase #6 & Born Raw Clothing WINNER!!!

Last week's goals were:

Goal#1: I'm still aiming to stick to my eating plan
I was better this week, and this will be my goal for this coming week (and many, many more).
Goal#2: I need to start a training plan for some of my runs, not just go out and run/walk whenever for every run. I need to work on running farther and faster.

I started with a training plan, and then got busy :(  I need to re-start from scratch.

Goal#3: Now that the weather is cooler and rainier, I need to push myself to get out and run.  I will aim to run at least 3x this coming week.

I only ran 2x this past week.  It was quite rainy, and ran outside when I could, but didn't use the treadmill on the rainy days.  I will need to learn to.

Goal#4: A big one:  get more organized with everything, and not put it all off until later.  I used to be, but recently I have been procrastinating with everything. Grrr!  This week I will get caught up and start to keep more organized.

I am not completely caught up, but I got the paperwork finished that had a deadline.

My goals for this coming week are:

Goal #1  Once again, I will aim for running 3x  this week.

Goal #2  I promise to get on my treadmill at least once this week to get used to the old beast.

Goal #3  I will get started again on a running plan and stick to it!!

Goal #4  This isn't fitness related, but another goal is to clean out my van before winter.  It's amazing how much stuff accumulates in your vehicles.

And the Winner Is......

Now what you've all been waiting for, the winner of the white racerback tank top from Born Raw Gym Clothing!

And, the winner is......  Lisa from neonprincesses.blogspot.ca  Congratulations Lisa!!!  Please contact me with your full name and mailing address and size of tank top you'd like, and I'll pass the information on to Born Raw and they'll send out your shirt to you!!  :)

Weekly Chase #5

Weekly Chase Link

Well, it seems cooler weather is here, and I'm finding it just a tad harder to make myself leave the warm house and head out for a run.  Once I am out I'm fine, but it's to get my butt out there!!

Last week's goals were:

Goal #1: Once again, I will try to keep to my eating plan 100%.  I said try ;)
Wasn't too bad, but I need to work a little harder at it!

Goal #2: I will stretch daily, and use my foam roller after every run!!  I must do this to help with my hip pain.
I stretched and foam rolled after every workout!  :)

Goal #3: I will do my exercises for my plantar fasciitis every day.  I always start out well, but end only doing them a couple times a week.  I want this PF to heal, so I better try harder!!
I didn't manage to do them every day, but I did do stretches before getting out of bed so there was less pain when I first walked in the morning.  I need to keep this up.

Goal #4: This isn't fitness related, but I will get caught up on my business paperwork!!  I am behind, and I keep putting it off - I am a great procrastinator.  I will procrastinate no longer!
Still trying to get caught up.  It's not a fun job, and I can always find other things to do on the computer that are more fun :/

This week's goals:

Goal#1: I'm still aiming to stick to my eating plan

Goal#2: I need to start a training plan for some of my runs, not just go out and run/walk whenever for every run. I need to work on running farther and faster.

Weekly Chase #4 & A Giveaway!!

This is my fourth Weekly Chase!  Sometimes when I start things, I am not so good at keeping up with them, but this is working out well :)
The Weekly Chase

Let's recap my goals for last week:

Goal #1:  Of course once again I'll try to keep to my eating plan 100%.
I was good, but not 100%.  I'll keep trying.

Goal #2: I still want to run at least 10 miles this week.  It's supposed to be rainy this week, so I will likely be stuck running on the treadmill, so it will be harder to get to 10 miles this week.
It didn't rain much, so I got out on the trails almost every day and I ran 13 miles this past week. Yay! It was beautiful fall running weather, and I had a great time running on the trails and enjoying the scenery.

Goal#3:  I will try to get to bed before 11pm each night!!
I did pretty good on this one :)

Goal#4:  To take my "greens" drink daily.  I use Fighter Diet Greens, which are the only ones that taste good in my opinion, but I seem to "forget" to take it.
I didn't drink it every day, but about 5 days out of the 7 so not so bad.

Now my goals for this week:

Goal #1: Once again, I will try to keep to my eating plan 100%.  I said try ;)

Goal #2: I will stretch daily, and use my foam roller after every run!!  I must do this to help with my hip pain.

Goal #3: I will do my exercises for my plantar fasciitis every day.  I always start out well, but end only doing them a couple times a week.  I want this PF to heal, so I better try harder!!

Goal #4: This isn't fitness related, but I will get caught up on my business paperwork!!  I am behind, and I keep putting it off - I am a great procrastinator.  I will procrastinate no longer!

Weekly Chase #3 & Shubeez Winners!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Here in Canada, it was our Thanksgiving this past weekend.  We had gorgeous weather, and we made it out for walks in the local conservation area.

The Weekly Chase

This is my third weekly chase!
Last week my goals were:
Goal#1 Once again I want to run at least 10 miles, maybe aim for 15
I guess I was an over achiever last week, because I ran 20 miles!  I blame it on the gorgeous weather, I just couldn't stay inside :)

Goal #2 Keep to my eating plan 100% (I'll try harder).
Well, with Thanksgiving this past weekend, I didn't stick to my diet 100%.

Goal #3 To try to do two sessions of flexibility exercises
I didn't get two sessions in, but I will try again this week.

Goal #4  To try a different exercise in my weight workouts.
I tried a new exercise with the cable machine- cable kickbacks - I really felt it in my legs the next day!

My goals for this week are:

Goal #1:  Of course once again I'll try to keep to my eating plan 100%.

Goal #2: I still want to run at least 10 miles this week.  It's supposed to be rainy this week, so I will likely be stuck running on the treadmill, so it will be harder to get to 10 miles this week.

Goal#3:  I will try to get to bed before 11pm each night!!

Goal#4:  To take my "greens" drink daily.  I use Fighter Diet Greens, which are the only ones that taste good in my opinion, but I seem to "forget" to take it.

The Weekly Chase #2

The Weekly Chase

This is my second weekly chase :)  Last week my goals were:

Goal #1 Run 10 miles this week
I did fine here, I ran 14 miles this past week.  Yay!!

Goal #2: Keep to my eating plan 100%
Okay, I did slip up a couple times and ate some "less-than-healthy" items.  I will try to be better this week.

Goal #3: To stretch/foam roll after each workout
I stretched after every workout, but did only a couple of sessions with the foam roller.

Goal #4: To try some flexibility exercises.
I totally bombed here, and didn't do any flexibility exercises :(  I will do better this week!!

This week's goals are:

Goal#1 Once again I want to run at least 10 miles, maybe aim for 15

Goal #2 Keep to my eating plan 100% (I'll try harder).

Goal #3 To try to do two sessions of flexibility exercises

Goal #4  To try a different exercise in my weight workouts.

This week we had gorgeous fall running weather, and I took advantage of it and did as many runs outside as I could.  Soon all of my running will have to be indoors on the treadmill, and I am not looking forward to that :(
The trails were still wet in some places, but as long as I was careful and slowed down, I was fine.  I really don't want to fall again - lol (see my previous post about my slippery run!).
I did have a run-in with a garter snake on the trail (and I HATE snakes!). I know garter snakes are small, but I don't like any type of snake.  I startled when I saw him between my feet, but I couldn't stop because I had forward momentum, but I did some incredible fancy footwork to avoid stepping on him.  If I had accidentally stepped on him, I would have screamed and screamed - YUK!  I am sure that he was trying hard not to be stepped on, and was probably as scared as I was!!  I hope that never happens again.

Have any of you ever stepped on a snake on your runs?

So pretty, and inviting to run.  I even tried a couple of new trails this past week.

The trails are gorgeous

August Weekly Goals Update #2 and More Races!

As promised, here is my update for the past week - actually for the past 2 weeks 'cause I've been a tad busy with 2 jobs, kids, hubby, etc, etc.  But the important part, is that I have made time for exercising everyday!

training with my workout partner, Lola :)

-I am walking/running every day. No workouts of straight running yet, I am still taking it slowly.

-I am keeping to "Sara's -Use it 2 Lose It" challenge.  The goal for August is to walk or run 36 miles (I had been doing a big ol' 0 before this challenge) and to log 120 minutes of strength training per week in August.
So far, I have walked/ran 19 miles in just the past week, and I have logged over 6 hours of strength training per week.

training

-I am still prepping for my virtual run on Labour Day hosted by http://www.mommyrunfast.com.
PLUS, I have entered another virtual race, The Great Cupcake Race. The Cupcake Race is for Team In Training (for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society).  I guess I am enjoying these virtual runs!

I have also committed myself to the Terry Fox Run for cancer research on September 16th.  I will be running in honour of my Mom who passed away from cancer this year, and of my Dad who passed away from cancer many years ago.

Now for my last goal - do a plank a day.  So I haven't done a plank every day, but I have done more planks than when I last checked in (which was zero!).  I will try and improve for next check -in.

August Fitness Goals

At the beginning of the month (or the year), I have great plans and goals, but then a few weeks later, I have often fallen off the wagon.

This month, I am blogging my goals for August so I can be held accountable by my readers.

My goals for August are:

-to run more frequently
I had stopped running a year ago due to an injury, and now have been a little scared to really start up again.

-finish "Sara -Use it to lose it"'s  August challenge (https://www.facebook.com/SaraUseIt2LoseIt/events) I have challenged myself to running 36 miles (9 miles per week) in August and 120+ minutes per week of strength training
The 120 min of strength training per week is no problem.  I already do 1 to 1.5hrs of strength per day 5 or 6 days a week.  It's the miles I have to work on.

-prep for a Labour Day 5 mile virtual run hosted by Mommy, Run Fast
One more goal to aim for with my running.  I really LOVED running before my hip injury, I just have to get back at it and build up my cardio endurance.

-do a #plankaday
This one will be hard because I absolutely HATE planks.  No ifs ands or buts about it - I do not like planks, but they are a great ab exercise.  I am hoping that if I get better at planks, I will like them???  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Those are my goals, and I plan on blogging at the end of each week to let you in on my progress.  Hopefully this will keep me on track knowing I have to be accountable!!
